The Pittsburgh Pirates optioned outfielder Jose Tabata to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday and recalled outfielder Gorkys Hernandez to demand his point on the active roster.
Tabata has been a starter after the Pirates when nourishing since his majors launch in June 2010. He signed a contract appendage form August that on bring via 2016 but struggled this season. Tabata was batting .230 with three family runs and 11 RBIs in 72 games.
